Events & Activities
The annual Urban Promise Miami/MSPC Thanksgiving dinner is quickly approaching. With nearly 80 families from Little Havana and the surrounding area joining us on the MSPC campus, the event is sure to be a fun night filled with Christian fellowship.
It’s a big event and we’re looking for volunteers. If you have some free time, we need help with meal preparation on Monday, November 12, cooks to bake prepared turkeys on Tuesday morning, and volunteers to join in the celebration on Tuesday night. If you’re interested in helping out, please call Carol at 305-754-9541 or email at email@example.com.
Every year, MSPC joins Samaritan’s Purse in making Christmas special for a child in more than 100 countries around the world. Shoeboxes are available after both services on Sunday, or from the church office. Filled boxes are due back on November 11th. Last year, MSPC collected more than 200 boxes, and this year we hope to have even more! If you have questions about the Shoebox ministry, you can learn more on their website by clicking here. If you need additional information about the MSPC collection, call the church office at 305-754-9541 or email Carol at firstname.lastname@example.org

Vacation Bible School 2018: Shipwrecked
This summer for Vacation Bible School, kids will discover how Jesus rescues us through life’s storms. Shipwrecked is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Sciency-Fun Gizmos, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life. Join us for Shipwrecked VBS this summer, July 9th-13th! All rising PK4-5th grade students are welcomed to register as campers and youth entering grades 6-12 can sign up to volunteer. You can register at https://vbspro.events/p/events/mspcvbs2018. For more information, email Catherine Woods at email@example.com.
We need help gathering all of the supplies needed for VBS. Please stop by our VBS display in the Narthex and take a donation slip off the ship that fits a need that you can fulfill. You can return the items to the church office Monday through Friday or to the VBS display on Sundays. VBS will be held July 9-13th, but we ask that nonperishable items be delivered by June 10. Monetary donations are always welcomed.
Great News!! We are more than excited to announce that Anita Stevens has been offered and has accepted the position as our new MSPCS Head of School!
Anita Stevens will officially begin at MSPCS on July 1, 2018. Ms. Stevens is currently serving as Principal at Kasuun Elementary School in Anchorage, Alaska.
Ms. Stevens comes with over 25 years of experience as a Principal and Classroom Teacher. In 2015, she was awarded the National Distinguished Principal for the State of Alaska. She holds a Masters Degree in Education Administration and Counseling and a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and Science.
We have worked diligently to identify well-qualified candidates for the Head of School position and were thrilled to receive so many terrific applicants. Ms. Anita Stevens stood out to us as someone who has the gifts and skills for the Head of School position and we felt deeply that God was calling Anita to MSPCS.
We are thrilled Anita Stevens will soon be a key part of the MSPCS community!
